Patient Handling Course
The course is designed for those working in a care environment that have to assist with the movement of a patient.
These courses will be customised to the equipment used in your care setting.

- The Regulations
- Responsibilities under The Regulations
- Anatomy
- Results of poor handling
- Risk Assessing
- Safer lifting and handling techniques
- Use of hoists
- Use of frames
- Use of wheel chairs
Course duration
- Four hours excluding breaks
- Courses are normally run over one morning session but other timings such as afternoon, evening or weekend can be arranged
Course dates
- Closed courses can be held at your site for your group of up to 12 students at times and date to suit you
Assessment
- Continuous, unobtrusive assessment by trainer
Certificate
- A certificate which shows attendance at the training session.
- Certificate is valid for one year.
Special Consideration
- It is the responsibility of the student that they are physically fit before they attend this course as there will be some practical activities.
