Level 3 Award in Activity First Aid
This course is designed to provide the knowledge and competence required for a learner to deal with a range of first aid situations with a focus on sports and activity related conditions.
The course is suitable for learners working in outdoor and activity environments or involved in voluntary and community activities.

Course syllabus
- Responsibilities and reporting
- Assessment of the situation
- Dealing with a non-breathing casualty (adult & child)
- Use of an automated external defibrillator
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty
- Basic hygiene in first aid
- Heart attacks
- Minor injuries
- Shock
- Bleeding control
- Head injuries
- Diabetes
- Spinal injuries
- Angina
- Choking
- Seizures
- Fractures
- Drowning
- Electrical injuries
- Effects of heat and cold
- Asthma
- Burns
Course duration
- Twelve hours excluding breaks
- Courses are normally run over two seven hour days to allow for breaks and delegate registration
- Courses may not be spread over more than six weeks
Course dates
- Closed courses can be held at your site for your group of up to 12 students at times and date to suit you.

Assessment
- The qualification is assessed through practical demonstration and oral questioning
- Delegates must be fourteen years of age, and above, to take the assessment
Certificate
- On successful completion, students will be awarded a First Aid Awards certificate through one of our carefully chosen training suppliers
