Early Years First Aid Course

This Twelve Hour Paediatric First Aid course was originally designed in conjunction with the National Childminders Association (now PACEY) and Preschool Learning Alliance specifically for those working with young children. It is the twelve hour paediatric first aid course as detailed in the Early Years Foundation Stage. It may also be used to provide evidence to an NVQ assessor for those working towards an NVQ in Child Care and Education.

  • Asthma and Diabetes

  • Allergic Reactions and Anaphylactic Shock
  • Head Injuries
  • Bleeding and Shock
  • Burns
  • Sprains, Strains and fractures
  • Poisoning, bites and stings
  • Eye, nose and ear obstructions
  • Childhood conditions
  • Heart conditions
  • Meningitis

Course duration

  • Twelve hours excluding breaks
  • Courses are normally run over two seven-hour days but other combinations are available, such as four three-hour evenings etc.
  • Weekend courses are available for your group

Course dates

  • Closed courses can be held at your site for your group of up to 12 students at times and date to suit you.

Assessment

  • Continuous assessment by trainer
  • Delegates will require sufficient fluency in written and spoken English at national literacy level 2 to cope with the course

Certificate

  • A MGM Training Twelve Hour Paediatric First Aid certificate which is valid for three years, will be awarded on successful completion of the course
  • This course meets the requirements of the 2017 edition of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for the (full) Paediatric First Aid Course and is therefore suitable for those in OFSTED approved Childcare Settings
